For seated dinners, we can host up to 30 guests with our included furniture, and for larger seated events, we can expand to 42 people with additional furniture rentals. Included with the rental of our private event spaces in Vancouver are furniture, glassware, serviceware, basic menu design, and cleaning. We also ensure appropriate staffing levels and provide one security guard for all private events to ensure guest and community safety.

Q: What is the capacity of your private event spaces?
A: The Pawn Shop Loft can accommodate up to 75 standing guests or 30 – 42 seated. The Hideaway is designed for up to 40 cocktail-style guests.
Q: Can we bring our own decorations?
A: Absolutely! You’re more than welcome to decorate the space to match your event’s theme, as long as nothing is damaged and the space is left as it was found. Please avoid using adhesives that might damage the walls, as this could result in a charge.
Q: Are we allowed to bring a cake for our celebration?
A: Yes, cakes are permitted! Our team will happily cut and serve it for a flat $50 cake cutting fee. Disposable plates are appreciated, and please note candles are not provided.
Q: Can we bring in outside food or catering?
A: Outside food is permitted. However, if you require the use of our kitchen facilities, an additional cost will be applied to your rental. We also offer a delicious selection of canapés and flatbreads for your event.
Q: What is the “minimum spend” and how does it work?
A: The “minimum spend” is a pre-agreed amount that must be reached in food and beverage purchases by the end of your event. All pre-ordered food from our event menu or from The Pawn Shop’s taco bar, along with all beverages purchased on the day, contribute towards this minimum. If the amount is not met, the remaining balance will be charged to the card on file. This ensures you get the full value out of our services and space!
Q: How late can our event go?
A: Events in The Pawn Shop Loft can celebrate until 2 AM. For The Hideaway, the latest celebration time is 11 PM. All bookings include a 6-hour rental.
Q: Are minors allowed at events?
A: Minors are permitted in our event spaces until 10 PM. After 10 PM, our liquor license requires us to change it to “Liquor Primary,” meaning all guests must be 19+ and hold two valid forms of government-issued identification, one with a photo.
Q: Are there any additional costs beyond the minimum spend?
A: Costs not included in the minimum spend are client-specific decor, fees for outside DJs (if applicable), additional security beyond the one guard provided, gratuity, and taxes. We also have a corkage fee and a champagne spraying fee. All of these fees are covered in our terms and conditions!
